The Asian Culture and Education Society USA (ACAESUSA) is proud to celebrate America’s 250th anniversarythrough art, creativity, and youth participation.
Our “Brushes of Freedom: Celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary” art competition has officially concluded. The competition gave young artists an opportunity to express their ideas about freedom, diversity, culture, and what America means to them.
As part of an exhibition collaboration, artwork submitted during the competition has already been presented at UP Exhibition Hall.

The Story Continues Through Art
The competition has concluded, but through our exhibition partnerships, the artwork continues to reach new audiences and celebrate the creativity and voices of our youth.
ACAESUSA believes that our young people should have an opportunity to be part of America’s 250th anniversary—not only by learning about history, but also by sharing their own perspectives and visions for the future.

This showcase brings together outstanding middle and high school students to develop leadership skills, enhance public presence, and engage in meaningful social impact.

ACAESUSA 2026 Youth Leadership & Community Service Program Concludes Four-Month Community Initiative
DALLAS, TX — September 17, 2026
From May 17 through September 17, 2026, the Asian Culture and Education Society USA (ACAESUSA) conducted a four-month youth leadership and community service initiative featuring leadership training, cultural exchange, student art exhibitions, community service, philanthropy, and youth engagement.
The program began with youth leadership training on May 17 and continued throughout the summer with participation in the AAUC Summit, the UCA National Convention, and the Dallas Fourth of July Parade. Students also used art and cultural expression to connect with communities across the country. Their paintings and Chinese calligraphy were exhibited at University Park Public Library in July, followed by exhibitions in Boston from August 29 to 30 and Philadelphia from September 3 to 7.
During the September Philadelphia exhibition, ACAESUSA student artwork was displayed as part of a gathering of Asian American leaders and community representatives. ACAESUSA extends its appreciation to Declaration of Independence 250: Asian American Celebration (DOI250AA) for providing exhibition space and welcoming the students’ artwork. DOI250AA is also preparing its America250 Future Builders National Gathering in Philadelphia on December 12–13, 2026, bringing together participants for leadership, cultural exchange, learning, and community connection.
On August 4, 2026, ACAESUSA received a commemorative card from the White House marking the 250th anniversary of American independence. The card conveyed best wishes in celebration of this historic national milestone and added a special connection to ACAESUSA’s 2026 cultural, artistic, and community activities related to America250.
Community service remained a central component of the program. On August 15 and September 17, ACAESUSA students and families participated in community distributions of school supplies, clothing, and food in Carrollton, Dallas, and Plano.
From August 27 through September 17, students also actively participated in North Texas Giving Day, creating fundraising pages and reaching out to their communities to support nonprofit causes. Through North Texas Giving Day, an initiative of the Communities Foundation of Texas, ACAESUSA students also had an opportunity to participate in activities with WFAA Channel 8 and gain exposure to community engagement through local media.
Throughout the program, ACAESUSA recognized students for achievements in leadership, community service, and the arts. Students received leadership and community service awards as well as certificates of completion.
As part of the World of Love International Art Competitions, ACAESUSA presented awards recognizing the results of both the 2025 and 2026 competitions. The 2nd Annual World of Love International Art Exhibition, themed “Brushes Blooming for the Youth,” celebrated the resilience, creativity, and dreams of young people through art. Certificates recognizing the 2025 competition results, along with leadership awards, were presented to recipients through related in-person and virtual events, including the ACAESUSA Leadership Summit held in Las Vegas on June 29, 2026.
ACAESUSA also presented the 2026 World of Love Art Competition Awards to recognize participating students and their artistic achievements. In addition, Cultural Ambassador Awards were presented to students in recognition of their efforts to promote cultural understanding, appreciation, and exchange.
During the Las Vegas activities, ACAESUSA also recognized adults, community supporters, companies, and organizations that contributed to youth development, community service, cultural exchange, and the success of ACAESUSA programs. Appreciation and recognition awards were presented to selected supporters during the event.
A complete list of award recipients—including student awardees and recognized individuals, companies, and organizations—will be published separately.
The students’ experiences also complemented their academic journeys. Students who have participated in ACAESUSA programs have been admitted to universities including Yale, Columbia, Cornell, Duke, New York University, Purdue, UT Austin, SMU, Texas A&M, UC San Diego, UC Davis, and USC.
ACAESUSA plans to continue developing opportunities that connect youth leadership, volunteer service, arts and cultural activities with students’ academic and future professional interests.
“We are proud to see our young people connect culture, service, leadership, and community engagement through meaningful experiences,” said Jan Xie, President of ACAESUSA. “Our goal is to create opportunities for students to learn by doing, serve their communities, and grow into responsible future leaders.”
ACAESUSA extends its appreciation to the UCA Community Foundation (UCACF) for its support of and commitment to youth development; United Chinese Americans (UCA) for supporting the Las Vegas convention venue and related activities; and UCA WAVES for its continued support of youth development and mental health awareness.
In 2025, UCA WAVES provided ACAESUSA with exhibition table space during Roots & Resilience: The Power of Data & Stories to Advance AAPI Youth Mental Health, giving ACAESUSA youth an opportunity to display their artwork during the conference and connect artistic expression with conversations about youth mental health and community well-being.
ACAESUSA also thanks the Asian American Unity Coalition (AAUC) for supporting youth participation in national leadership and cultural exchange; Declaration of Independence 250: Asian American Celebration (DOI250AA) for providing exhibition space in Philadelphia; and University Park Public Library, Communities Foundation of Texas, North Texas Giving Day, WFAA Channel 8, as well as the parents, volunteers, donors, adult supporters, companies, organizations, and community partners whose contributions helped make these activities possible.
As part of its continued commitment to youth leadership, cultural exchange, and community engagement, ACAESUSA will join AAUC as a co-host of the 2026 Unity Summit in Sacramento, California, on October 7, 2026, continuing to create opportunities for community connection and youth participation.
The conclusion of the four-month initiative marks another step in the students’ continued growth. ACAESUSA looks forward to working with families, schools, libraries, nonprofit organizations, businesses, and community partners to create more opportunities for young people to learn, serve, express themselves, and lead.

ACAESUSA World Art Exhibition and Competition – Brushes Blooming for the Youth
“Brushes Blooming for the Girls” invites artists of all ages worldwide to celebrate girlhood, promote well-being, and inspire compassion through the power of visual art.
As we prepared this exhibition, we felt it important to add one more line: although the focus is on girls, this canvas also carries the memory of boys. Through art, we share love, remembrance, and the enduring spirit of all youth whose stories continue to inspire us.
